About DBI
The Danish Institute of Fire and Security Technology (DBI) is an independent research and technology organization. We advance safe, fast adoption of technologies for the green transition across construction, energy, transport, and digital infrastructure.

The Role
Join DBI’s EU R&I Policy and Partnerships function. You will help us shape evidence-based input to Horizon Europe and related initiatives and build the right partnerships to execute. Focus starts in energy and transport and extends across DBI.

You will play an important role in:

  • EU Call Screening: Identify relevant Horizon Europe calls for grant suited to DBI capacities and produce briefs on Technology Readiness Level (TRL), expected scope, and next steps.

  • Policy Input / Call Drafting: Draft evidence-based notes for public consultations on scoping of Horizon Europe calls, European Partnerships, and missions, aligned with EU transparency rules.

  • Networking & Partner Mapping: Build target lists using databases of past Horizon Europe projects; draft outreach notes and track responses in CRM/Excel.

  • Presentation Materials: Maintain 1-page capability sheets and modular company presentations tailored to sectors.

  • Tracking Tools: Keep a live pipeline of calls, deadlines, and outreach status.

  • Event Scouting & Support: Scout and prepare for EU events; support DBI visibility and follow-ups.

  • Internal Innovation Processes: Take part in improving the R&D and innovation pipelines.

What We Offer

  • Flexible hours with exam-period adjustments.

  • Mentoring and autonomy in a small, growing team.

  • Hybrid work possible; occasional travel to events (e.g., Brussels/Copenhagen).

  • Access to DBI’s student assistant network, learning opportunities, and subsidized staff meals.

  • Compensation per DBI student assistant scale.

What We’re Looking For

  • Curious and proactive mindset, ready to explore unfamiliar technical areas.

  • Strong analytical writing in English; concise briefing style.

  • Excellent written communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Basic understanding of green energy technologies.

  • Proficiency in PowerPoint, Excel and AI-assisted analysis/writing.

  • Structured, proactive, comfortable engaging external stakeholders.

  • Interest in EU policy, funding, and green innovation.

  • Right to work in Denmark.

Social Environment

Joining DBI means being part of a friendly, socially supportive, and international environment. Collaboration and knowledge sharing are at the heart of our culture. You’ll work closely with colleagues across departments and external partners, gaining exposure to diverse perspectives and expertise.

DBI welcomes applicants of all backgrounds. We hire for talent and potential.

Quick start preferred.
